On the 9th of May 2022, Citizen Commons hosted 20 community change champions competitively selected from a pool of applicants from across Nigeria in recognition of their roles as local change leaders and active participation in the #EndSARS protest to participate in a 5 days residential Bootcamp In Abuja, Nigeria
The Community Change Enablers Bootcamp is a special edition of Citizen Commons Social Justice Academy that aims to empower and introduce these champions to the art of social change through advocacy, community engagement and social innovation.
It was an exciting learning journey for the enablers as they were empowered and introduced to strategies and tools that will help scale up their advocacy journey using a mix of workshops, long readings, seminars, and role plays.
The workshop was led by leading experts and professionals such as Olalekan Oshunkoya– Team Program Advisor at Citizen Commons, Oluseun Onigbide– Founder of Budgitng, Seun Durojaiye– editor of Social Voices, Foye Omole, Seyi Arowosebe (From Citizens_gavel) Gideon Olanrewaju– Founder of Areai4Africa, Segun Fatudimu of ImpactToolBox and Sozonetworks and Mr. Solomon Okedara of Digital Rights Lawyers.
